A game of Thurn und Taxis

I really couldn't make up a clever name for this.

But anyway, today was a rare occasion of playing Thurn und Taxis. I think it's been over a year since the game was played last time.

We had three players, two of whom had never played Thurn und Taxis or much even board games in general. The latter fact somewhat affected the choice of game, I guess it'd have been a bit of a bad sport to take a 3-hour session of some of the more complex games I have.

Anyway, there's not much else to tell except that it's still an entertaining game. Final scoreboard was 16, 8 and 7. And I didn't actually have the highest score even when I had the most experience.

The deck was poorly shuffled, I say. Heh.

21.6 Salo - friend's place again

So, we played a couple of two player games, Thurn und Taxis again.

I did win both of them and felt a bit bad :(

It's kinda nasty thing when you're a gamer geek and play with people that play less board games.

However, first game was a tough one. Both managed to grab the prize for being on all colors and then random badges. I ended the game by making a road of seven cities, so I got 10 points out of that, and we had 1 point difference. So yeah, tough game.

Next game I had very good luck with cards I got. I won quite clearly, but the opponent did something I've never ever seen before in Thurn und Taxis. That was a road of 16 cities long. It had all the cities in Baiern and a few other cities too.

20.6 Salo - friend's place

I was visiting friends and brought Thurn und Taxis with me.

We played a game with three players.

I was the only player who had ever played the game before so I guess I had a certain advantage there.

Uh, I just realized there isn't much else to make statistics from Thurn und Taxis except the number of games played. But I guess I'll write some other stuff.

I rarely get the Baiern area because I'm usually obsessed with getting the prize badge of having a post office in every color. But in this game it just happened that I conquered the inner Germany under the iron heel of red post offices.

I began the game and I ended the game by reaching the post route of 7 cities card. This meant that the round was played to end and both opponents got one turn to play. And one player managed to snatch a frickin' (I hate that word by the way) 8 or 9 points! She got the badge of having a post office in all colors and on top of that she got the blue area. I don't remember if the blue area was still giving 3 points or was it 2 points only.

However, this brought us to even point, me and she had 19 points. So it was time to check the rulebook, this was pretty uncommon situation. I was remembering that the one who had less unused post offices would win, and that would have meant my opponent won. But to my advantage rulebook pointed out that if two players have equal points then the one who has the badge of ending the game won. And that one was with me.

So I won! Hooray?
